Our Story: The Heart Behind Percy's Village
Percy’s Village was born from love, loss, and the determination to do better.
Our founder, Dayna Wade, spent years watching her dad, Percy, lovingly care for her mom through the journey of dementia. Percy wasn’t a nurse. He wasn’t trained. He was a husband who chose love every single day. Despite Dayna’s role as Percy’s primary caregiver, he suffered a traumatic brain injury that led to his own dementia diagnosis and his passing in December of 2024.
With her 20 plus years of experience in education and training, Dayna pours into Percy’s Village by learning as much as she can and paying it forward. Learning that an estimated 40% of Alzheimer’s caregivers die from stress-related disorders before the person for whom they are caring pushed her to seek help. Dayna placed her mom in a highly rated memory facility, believing it would offer expertise, comfort and support. What she found instead was a system that was too big, too impersonal, and too clinical for the kind of care her family needed.
That’s when the vision was born.
What if care could feel like home?
What if residents were truly known, not just managed?
What if families could have peace of mind because their loved ones are in a place built on heart, not greed?
That vision became Percy’s Village: a nonprofit senior care organization serving caregivers and the people they care for. Percy's Village family care home serves up to four residents at a time. Dignity, connection, and compassion are not extras, they’re the foundation.
Inspired by her father’s example, Percy’s Village is not just a tribute, it’s a movement. It's a belief that even as memory fades - love, joy, and respect can remain.
This is the heart behind Percy’s Village. And we’re just getting started…

What Makes Us Different?
Percy’s Village was created to change how families experience aging and caregiving. As a nonprofit organization, we exist to uplift caregivers and those they care for; creating a model of compassionate, community-based care that restores dignity, connection, and peace of mind.
What sets us apart is not just what we do, but why we do it:
- Purpose Before Profit: Every decision we make centers people, not margins. We reinvest in families, caregivers, and programs that strengthen community.
- Care That Feels Like Family: With only four residents max, our home is intimate by design—built for trust, belonging, and meaningful connection.
- Empowered Caregivers: We walk alongside families, offering guidance, education, and respite so caregivers can continue their journey with strength and grace.
- Compassion in Action: Our trained care team leads with heart, ensuring every act of care is rooted in respect, patience, and love.
- Community Connection: Through partnerships, enrichment programs, and outreach, we bring seniors and families into a wider circle of care.
- Whole-Person Wellness: We nurture body, mind, and spirit—because true well-being goes beyond daily assistance; it’s about living fully.
Percy’s Village is more than a place to receive care—it’s a movement to honor aging, empower caregivers, and remind every family that love is the foundation of care.
